Wilkes Barre & Eastern Railroad
The Wilkes Barre & Eastern railroad was formed from the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railroad to create a connection from Stroudsburg to a point north of Wilkes Barre. This connection was built in 1892. Then a connection to Suscon,PA was built to service the coal fields in that area. In 1898 the NYS&W railroad was leased to the Erie Railroad until 1937 when the NYS&W railroad resumed operating the line. The WB&E line was abandoned in 1939.
These two pages are also WB&E but are shown from the Erie page since the Erie operated these sections.
